It's the night before Calum and I are about to depart for our trip. After Grant spending an hour and a half trying to work out what was wrong with our camera uploading pictures to the computer for Miranda to point out that perhaps there was a problem with the USB cable our blog is good to go!
Calum arrived safe and sound on Friday 12th September...minus his baggage. The lady in Philidelphia had asked where Calum's connecting flight was bound and instead of actually checking he took a wee stab in the dark - which turned out to be wrong!
We spent a few days with the boys doing some fun stuff, including Extreme Bouncing which consisted of a room filled entirely with trampolines (photos on Miranda's computer sorry). Cameron and Jamie were brilliant at it and kept going for the full hour; we were not so energetic.
On Sunday we went to watch the boys in action at the ice hockey rink. They were AWESOME. Calum wanted to don his skates and join in whilst Jenni joined in (perhaps a little too violently) from the sidelines! (Louder than even the wild sports mums!!!!) After hockey we were all exhausted so went to Red Robin for a milkshake. Calum wasn't really hungry so just had a bacon double cheese-burger and chocolate milkshake (he will point out at this moment that he didn't finish all his fries). Bay-bay thought he'd be the big man and order a pint of Guiness but he got ID'd by the 19 year old waiter who had more facial hair and couldn't believe that Baby face Baynham was actually 21. Major LOL. Grant had ordered a cheeky little cocktail but his age wasn't queried at this point...
On Monday we did the whole Washington D.C tourist thing. Had a really great day. The photos of the White House might make you chuckle a little. We asked an old man to take our picture and he took about seventeen to get it 'just right' but neglected to point out at any one time that we were standing directly in front of the White House so you couldn't see it in the pictures!
Calum got pretty snap-happy on this trip resulting in Fight Number One (perhaps of many). We saw genuine people who may have been of Eastern descent do the 'Peace' sign in photos! I really wanted to take a picture but thought it might have been considered un-PC (not like me AT all).
Point of information; Jen wanted all the photos to be of ME, and didn't want any of herself or scenery photos (as apparently no one likes looking at just scenery photos). However she insisted that photos must be taken for you guys when I refused to be in photos too deeming her argument ridiculous (in Calum's eyes).
Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway..........
First stop Durham, North Carolina!!
Speak soon, (Calum wants me to write Peace but I think it's gaaaaay)
PEACE
Cal and Jen xxxxxx
